"The world is changing faster than the education system can respond. That is why we need new educational opportunities for our young people."
St Helens College 14-16 Academy is an exciting opportunity for students currently in year 9, to join us for years 10 and 11, full-time. With the unique curriculum of GCSEs, technical and professional pathways and valuable work experience, students will gain comprehensive preparation for the world of work.
You will study core subjects such as English, maths and science, alongside a personalised, technical and professional curriculum. Technical and professional subjects are career and employment related. This blended curriculum will develop your understanding of the world of work and will help you to gain essential employability skills that employers look for.
Studying in a professional environment, you'll be expected to demonstrate a mature approach to your studies with the benefit of smaller class sizes than at school. We have very high aspirations for you!
"Learn vital employability skills through exciting projects set by employers, receive mentoring from keynote speakers from the business world and show off your entrepreneurial talent with competitions in academic and technical and professional settings."
At 16, you could choose to join St Helens College to undertake further advanced, technical and professional studies, a package of A levels or you may want to progress into employment, onto a traineeship or an apprenticeship. Whichever route you decide to choose, we will support and guide you every step of the way.
Don't worry about making the change from school, you'll meet lots of new friends and will receive support from your teachers!
