On the morning of the big day, students anxiously waited to hear whether they had passed their course before the tutors finally announced the exceptional results.

Level 3 Diploma in Childcare student Katy Garry-Madden said “I am overwhelmed by the result I have achieved. Trying to juggle all the assignments at once was hard but I tried to stay positive throughout the course. It really has boosted my confidence in the work I produce.”

The level 3 childcare diploma is an advanced course designed to prepare students for the working world within an early years setting. By combining work placements with the theoretical aspects of childcare, students are challenged throughout the course to enable them to achieve their career aspirations.

Clare Webster, Head of Health, Sports and Public Services, said “I am extremely proud of these students who have worked really hard, working weekly in Early Years settings. It’s a challenging course, so this is such a fantastic achievement!”
Catherine Jones, Pastoral Care Leader at St Helens College, added, “The pass rate has been such a big success as the students were completing many internal assessments alongside a 5000 word dissertation. It’s great to see that all their hard work has paid off.”

Rachel Summerskill, a Lecturer in Health, Sports and Public Services, also spoke of how rewarding it was to see the students congratulate each other on their results. “When the course first started, all the students were really quiet with each other as obviously, starting a new course with new people can be nerve-racking. The close relationship that the students have with each other now shows that our effort to integrate the class and encourage them to support each other has really paid off.”

We wish our students the best of luck as they take the next steps towards their future and hope the pass rate has encouraged their self-belief and determination to succeed in the next stage of their journey.
