St Helens College Relaunches Health and Safety CoursesSt Helens College is relaunching our range of health and safety courses to raise awareness of the importance of health and safety in the workplace and to raise awareness of a career in the industry.

The relaunch comes in the wake of the Trades Union Congress (TUC) survey of health and safety reps which found that nearly half of UK workplaces have never had a health and safety inspection. The report also found that workplaces with dedicated health and safety reps are usually those larger workplaces where there are greater risks to workers.

The courses on offer, which are accredited from both the Institute of Occupational Health & Safety (IOSH) and the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) range from entry level qualifications right up to courses for experienced professionals.

Not stopping there, the college is also celebrating recently gaining the green light to deliver the highly acclaimed NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, NEBOSH’s flagship NEBOSH award designed to provide students with the expertise required to undertake a career as a safety and health practitioner and also provides a sound basis for progression to postgraduate study.

Beth Nolan, Director of Business Development commenting on the relaunch said: “We are really proud of our health and safety course offer. We have courses for individuals who are new to the industry to those who are experienced professionals looking to take the next step in their career.”

“Our courses are designed to improve your skills and knowledge to ensure your workplace, staff and working conditions are Healthy and Safe. They aim ensure that students are fully knowledgeable in fire safety, electrical safety, hazards and risks around the workplace and policies and audit processes. In addition, we are keen to work with a range of businesses to tailor courses or audit their individual health and safety needs.”
