A growing success for Southport Flower ShowA group of green fingered students from St Helens College are displaying a gardening masterpiece at the UK's largest independent flower show.

The annual four-day Southport Flower Show which attracts over 70,000 visitors each year will exhibit the students' impressive floral furniture; consisting of an oversized sofa and coffee table, created and designed by skilled students on St Helens College's Horticulture and Floristry courses.

The budding gardeners' creative work is hoped to attract lots of attention at this year's show as visitors will be able to relax and unwind on the innovative creation.

Rob Hogan, Horticulture lecturer at St Helens College, said, "It has been a great project for both students and staff of the College to be a part of. It will be a great opportunity for visitors of the show to see the skill, talent and calibre of students at the College. We are all excited to see the final piece at the show in August."

The exciting attraction which has been supported by New Directions and EASIGRASS will be showcased at Victoria Park, Southport, from Thursday 14 to Sunday 17 August.
