Harrison ChapmanOur Level 3 business student, Harrison Chapman has secured a dream, professional apprenticeship with market-leading accounting specialists, ClearSky after successfully gaining top marks of triple distinction star in his vocational qualification.

When nineteen-year-old Harrison first joined St Helens College, he lacked qualifications and confidence. Harrison admits, “I left secondary school with very few qualifications and then when I left sixth form after my first year I didn’t have much hope that another college would accept me.”

Before applying, Harrison attended an open evening, talking about the event he said, “I found it very useful, the staff and tutors were very friendly and the event gives you an insight to what you will be working towards. They answer any questions you have and support you with your application. When St Helens College accepted my application and offered me a place on the level 3 course, they put faith in me and they believed that I could better myself.”

Speaking about his time on the course Harrison said, “St Helens College literally changed my life. The tutors supported me throughout my time on the course, they believed I could achieve better and pushed me to be the best I could and I did! I came away with D*D*D* and secured myself an accounts apprenticeship with ClearSky. Business is a really enjoyable subject and you cover a wide range of topics. The best part about the course is that all the skills you learn can be transferred to various careers. I thoroughly enjoyed my time on the course.”

After completing his apprenticeship, Harrison hopes to develop a long-term career in accountancy and hopes to become a fully qualified accountant.
