Pink Friday 20th October 2017 Facebook

Our staff and students were proud to support #JulesPinkArmy today as we welcomed former student, Julie Lynan accompanied by Granada Reports and celebrity reporter Paul Crone onto campus in a stylish Pink Limo.

Julie is a member of staff at Whiston Hospital and a breast cancer survivor. She is now on a mission to raise as much money as possible for the Whiston Hospital Reconstruction Service. Whiston is 1 of only 9 centres in the country recognised for training of oncoplastic breast surgeons. They are the only hospital in Merseyside that can offer the full spectrum of breast reconstruction.

The students were very keen to support Julie on her mission, by hosting our very own Pink Friday event, offering their services by running a variety of ‘Pink’ stalls including Nail Art, Face Painting and Hair Coloring. Health and Social Care students held a special pink cake sale with the help of Animal Management and catering students.

The students also created an awareness board to send messages of hope to those affected by breast cancer!

The special guests made their entrance in style, arriving in a stylish Pink Limo greeted by a buzz of excited students. The guests did not shy away from getting in amongst the fun, leaving Paul Crone with pink hair and one of our tutors being splatted with cream.

We would just like to thank our guests for coming in today and for letting us be a part of such a great cause. We look forward to doing it all again next year!
