Adult Course Guide - Fan ImageThe College have a range of adult courses that begin from this September. They offer an opportunity to learn new skills, develop existing ones, boost confidence, gain qualifications or simply learn for fun. With courses suitable for everyone, from the absolute beginner, to those seeking more advanced and formal qualifications, there’s never been a better time to study.

People considering returning to education in St Helens and across the country will be receiving a boost this coming academic year with the introduction of a new government funding scheme. Under the new scheme, anyone earning less than £15,736.50, can now access adult education for free. This change in funding complements funding assistance offered through the current Advanced Learner Loan initiative.

St Helens College Principal, Anne Pryer said, “Student welfare is a big priority for us, hence affordability is at the core of our adult curriculum. Changes to funding, as well as accessibility of Advanced Learner Loans, means that many of our adult courses can be studied for free. Learning truly is for life, so regardless of your age, status or past qualifications we can help you to achieve your goals.”

The new adult course guide can be viewed online now, but will also be distributed to households, supermarkets and community venues across St Helens and the wider area in the coming weeks.
