Colours WebWe are proud to announce that St Helens College’s fine dining restaurant, Colours Restaurant, has recently been recognised as one of the best restaurants in the Northwest.

Voted for by the public, the 2019 Restaurant Awards - North West Edition showcases the very best of food excellence in the region, with Colours Restaurant securing a place in the top 100.

Colours Restaurant, an innovative, fine dining restaurant based in St Helens town centre, is a fully operational commercial restaurant and a unique platform, to train the College’s talented catering and hospitality students. Previous students have secured employment with industry leaders such as The Art School, Gleneagles, The Marram Grass, Mercure, The Shankly Hotel and The Thistle Hotel.

Antonio Mateus, Manager of Colours Restaurant, said, “It is an achievement and a privilege to be recognised as one of the top 100 restaurants in the Northwest. It is a genuine reflection of the hard work from all of the staff and students involved with the day-to-day running of the business.”

He added, “I would like to say a big thank you to all of our customers who nominated us - without them we wouldn’t be here.”

This accolade is a recent addition to Colours Restaurant’s list of achievements, after being recognised as a “top performing” restaurant on TripAdvisor and receiving a Certificate of Excellence, for the seventh year running.

This excellence in service is regularly showcased to the public with exclusive guest chef dinners and partnerships with some of the industry’s top chefs, such as Chef Patron, Paul Askew, Aazam Ahmad and James Holden.

A spokesperson for the 2019 Restaurant Awards - North West Edition said, “The restaurant industry has faced many challenges the last few years but continues to support the local economy by creating new jobs and leaving people who visit the Northwest with the best of impressions. Through the 2019 Restaurant Awards we show them that their talent and hard work doesn’t go unappreciated.

“We would like to congratulate all restaurants that got shortlisted in the Top 100 list for their amazing achievements.”
