Level 4 AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting

This part-time course is suitable for those who wish to pursue a career in accounting and looking to expand on their existing financial and management skills. You will build on your knowledge of financial statements for limited companies, complex management accounting tasks and other areas of accountancy.

When will I start the course and how long will it take?

This course starts in September and takes 15 months to complete.

St Helens College offers a flexible timetable with both daytime and evening study options.

What will I study?

You will explore various aspects of accountancy to develop your skills and knowledge. The following areas will be covered:

  • Financial statements of limited companies
  • Management accounting budgeting
  • Management accounting decision and control
  • Accounting systems and controls
  • Personal tax
  • Credit management

How is it assessed?

The course will be examined by computer based assessments for each of the first three units. The synoptic test will cover the first four units at the end of the course.

Do I need any previous qualifications to start this course?

You must have successfully completed the Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting.

What are the course fees?

More information on course fees will be provided upon application.

If you are aged 19+ you could also choose to apply for a 19+ Advanced Learner Loan to cover your course fees enabling you to study now, pay later. Loan eligibility isn't dependent on income or employment status and there is no credit check. Loan repayments don't start until you have finished your course and earn over £21,000 per year.

What can I go on to do once I have completed this course?

Upon successful completion of this course you will become a qualified Accounting Technician and can go on to secure employment at managerial or supervisory levels. This qualification will also lead to exemptions at ACCA and CIMA and the non-graduate route to chartered accountancy.
