First Aid for Dogs

This first aid course is perfect for dog owners and canine professionals. It is aimed at keeping our four-legged friends safe and healthy in case of medical emergencies.

This course will consist of theory and practical work to enable students to have a go and gain a better understanding of the different subjects covered.

The course is held in our Animal Management Unit at our STEM Centre, Technology Campus, WA9 1TT.

When will I start the course and how long will it take?

This one day course takes place on:

  • Thursday 12th January 2017, 9.30am - 12.30pm
  • Thursday 27th April 2017, 9.30am - 12.30pm

What will I study?

As a dog lover, dog owner or dog professional learn basic lifesaving and first aid techniques. The course will cover:

  • Managing first aid situations
  • Dealing with specific conditions
  • CPR
  • Bandaging Techniques

How is it assessed?

The aim of the course is to increase your own knowledge of the subject matter so there will be no formal assessment. A college participation certificate will be issued for those that attend.

Do I need any previous qualifications to start this course?

No previous qualifications required, just a willingness to learn!

What are the course fees?

The cost of the course is £45.

What can I go on to do once I have completed this course?

We have a selection of other short courses available. Alternatively, you may wish to pursue a formal qualification with us in Animal Management and we have a range of courses available.
