Level 3 Diploma in Animal Management (90 credit) (Learning for Life)

This course is suitable for students aged 19 and over.

You will gain a scientific, theoretical and managerial understanding of animal care to enable you to progress to the level 3 Extended Diploma qualification and ultimately, your dream career.

You will conduct a more in-depth exploration of wildlife rehabilitation, animal health, feeding and handling, whilst understanding the concepts of animal behaviour and veterinary nursing

When will I start the course and how long will it take?

The course will start in September and will take one year to complete.

What will I study?

During this course, you will study a variety of units such as:

  • Animal health
  • Animal feeding
  • Wildlife rehabilitation
  • Animal handling
  • Concepts of animal behaviour
  • Zoo animal health
  • Veterinary nursing

How is it assessed?

During your course, you will be assessed through a combination of assignment workshops and practical observations.

Do I need any previous qualifications to start this course?

You should have five GCSEs at grade 4 (equivalent to grade C) or above, including English, Maths and Science.

If you already have a grade 4 or above in English and/or Maths but wish to achieve a higher grade, we can also support you to do this.

What are the course fees?

If you are aged 19 or over, you could also choose to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to cover your course fees enabling you to study now, pay later. Loan eligibility isn't dependent on income or employment status and there is no credit check. Loan repayments don't start until you have finished your course and earn over £25,000 per year. What can I go on to do once I have completed this course?

Once you have successfully completed this course, you may wish to gain employment within a zoo, a wildlife conservation park, veterinary practice or animal rescue centre.

Alternatively, you may wish to enhance your knowledge further by progressing on to:

  • Level 3 Extended Diploma in Animal Management.
