Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Animal Management
This advanced level course is suitable for those who want to gain a scientific, theoretical and managerial understanding of animal care.
You will take a more in-depth look at wildlife rehabilitation, animal health, animal science and animal behaviour.
When will I start the course and how long will it take?
The course will start in September and will take one year to complete.
What will I study?
During this course you will study a variety of units such as:
- Animal health
- Animal feeding
- Wildlife rehabilitation
- Animal handling
- Concepts of animal behaviour
- Animal biology and anatomy
How is it assessed?
During your course, you will be assessed through a combination of assignment workshops and practical observations.
Do I need any previous qualifications to start this course?
You should have four GCSEs at grade 4 (equivalent to grade C) or above, including English, maths and science.
English and maths forms an important part of your future, ensuring you achieve the best success in your chosen career. But don't worry, if you haven't got the desired grades, we will still have a course available for you.
What are the course fees?
If you are a school leaver, aged 16-18, (under the age of 19 on or before 31st August 2017), you do not pay tuition fees or examination and registration fees and may be eligible for additional support depending on your financial situation. For more information, please click here.
If you are an adult student aged 19 or over, course fees are dependent on your personal circumstances and you may be eligible for funding. You could also choose to apply for a 19+ Advanced Learner Loan to cover your course fees enabling you to study now, pay later. Loan eligibility isn't dependent on income or employment status and there is no credit check. Loan repayments don't start until you have finished your course and earn over £21,000 per year.

What can I go on to do once I have completed this course?
Upon successful completion of this course, you may wish to seek employment within a zoo, wildlife conservation park, veterinary nursing or animal rescue centres.
Alternatively, you may wish to enhance your knowledge further by continuing your studies with the extended level 3 qualification.Ref: Mike Smillie
