Shabby Chic - Hand Painted Furniture Masterclass

This short leisure course is designed for anyone wishing to try their hand at Shabby Chic furniture renovation.

It will teach you a style of interior decoration that uses furniture and soft furnishings that appear to be pleasingly old or slightly worn.

This course is run in collaboration with Willowbrook Hospice. Items of furniture will be donated from Willowbrook Hospice for our students to work on. Once the items have been refurbished, they will be returned to Willowbrook Hospice to sell in one of their local charity shops.

When will I start the course and how long will it take?

This course starts on Tuesday 27th February 2018. You will attend College for 3 weeks every Tuesday from 6.00pm - 9.00pm.

What will I study?

This short course is specifically designed to give you an introduction into Shabby Chic, where you will be taught the necessary steps and techniques to achieve the perfect shabby chic look to furniture renovation.

You will achieve practice various techniques to achieve the chic paint finish to furniture, creating the perfect worn look.

How is it assessed?

There is no formal assessment. The course is aimed to increase your own knowledge of the subject matter. You will be given feedback based on your progress with suggestions and guidance for areas for improvement.

Do I need any previous qualifications to start this course?

There are no formal entry requirements. All you will need is commitment and enthusiasm. As with all our introduction courses the main emphasis is to come and enjoy.

What are the course fees?

This three-week workshop will cost £30.

What can I go on to do once I have completed this course?

You may want to develop your skills further and apply to study for a recognised accredited qualification.
