Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Business and Administration
This nationally recognised qualification proves you can perform business and administration tasks to a required standard. The training is designed to teach you simply how to increase your performance, productivity and supervisory skills.
This course is suitable for those who wish to obtain the skills needed to pursue a career in Business Administration or undertake further professional development.
When will I start the course and how long will it take?
This course is delivered in the workplace so it is vital that you work within an administrative setting before starting.
Working within a business environment gives students real experience to draw on when providing evidence for your NVQ and when working towards your specific competencies.
What will I study?
You will develop an understanding of how to carry out administrative tasks in a professional and efficient manner.
Modules include:
- Using office equipment
- Meet and welcome visitors
- Using the telephone
- Diary systems
- Research information
- Storing and retrieving information
The majority of students tend to study the level 2 in text processing alongside this qualification as it provides a complementary set of skills.
How is it assessed?
You will complete a portfolio of evidence which your tutor will fully support you with this. This will be reviewed in the workplace.
Do I need any previous qualifications to start this course?
You do not need any prior qualifications or experience, however you will undertake an initial assessment prior to enrolment.
What are the course fees?
Course fees are dependent on your personal circumstances and you may be eligible for funding to cover course fees.
If you are aged 19 - 23 and this is your first full level 2 qualification, 100% of your course fees will be covered. More information can be provided upon application.

What can I go on to do once I have completed this course?
Upon successful completion of this course you may wish to progress onto the level 3 certificate in Text Processing. Some of our previous students have gained employment with their work placement. Those that want to continue with study could go onto AAT accounting qualifications, ITQ user skills and more.
The course has proven success of helping students gain employment in range of sectors with companies including United Utilities and NHS.
