An Introduction to Recruitment and Selection

Our one-day training course in recruitment and selection is ideal for those new or with limited experience of recruitment, wanting to develop some skills and confidence in interviewing team members to produce an accurate assessment, whilst appreciating the whole selection process within the organisation.

When will I start the course and how long will it take?

This course has start dates throughout the year.

This course takes one day to complete. You will attend College from 9.00am - 5.00pm.

If required, we are able to set discrete dates for employers upon request.

What will I study?

This course will provide you with the skills, knowledge and confidence to recruit and select the right team member for the job. If possible, it is recommended that the recruitment and selection training programme is supported with the current recruitment and selection documentation of your organisation.

For the interview skills practice session, you will acquire a deeper level of learning when practising their interviewing skills with candidates who are unfamiliar to the participants e.g. casual staff or external candidates to the organisation. This helps provide a more realistic environment.

On completion of the training course, you will be able to:

  • Recognise the importance of adopting a structured recruitment process and the use of relevant selection methods.
  • Screen candidates' CVs using an agreed selection criterion for a job role.
  • Prepare for the first stage selection interview to ensure they create the right first impressions.
  • Ask effective questions and accurately assess the candidate's potential suitability for the role.

What are the course fees?

The total cost of this workshop is £100 per person.

What can I go on to do once I have completed this course?

Upon successful completion of this course, you may wish to attend one of the other many short business courses offered, including An introduction to Team Building, An introduction to Performance Management or An introduction to Time Management. You may also choose to complete one of our Human Resource courses accredited by the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) courses.
