An Introduction to Team Building

Our one-day team-building course is designed to improve leadership skills and allow you to be able to lead successful and high performing teams. The sessions packed full of useful teamwork training exercises, tips and techniques that new and experienced managers will find essential in showing how to lead effectively.

We will demonstrate fundamental 'people management skills'. The programme has been designed to enable you to understand the fundamentals of strategy and motivation in team building. You will benefit by learning tips and techniques that will increase your competence and confidence when managing, influencing and leading teams and individuals.

When will I start the course and how long will it take?

This course has start dates throughout the year and will take one day to complete.

If required, we are able to set discrete dates for employers upon request.

This course will take place at St Helens College, Town Centre Campus, St Helens, WA10 1PP.

What will I study?

During the course, you will cover the following:

  • Team development issues
  • Essential management skills to create an excellent team.
  • Motivation theory and practice
  • Managing conflict
  • Use of appraisal/development skills to ensure any training needs are met
  • Creating a team identity
  • Pre-empting conflict

On completion of the training course, you will be able to:

  • Analyse your own leadership style and how it impacts upon the team and how the team may react to them in different situations.
  • You will learn how to adapt their style and actions to become more 'situational' which will enable delegates to focus their leadership more effectively.
  • You will recognize that high performing teams/individuals go through several distinct stages and you will be able to recognise them which helps create "must do" strategies to increase effectiveness.

What are the course fees?

The total cost of this workshop is £100 per person.

What can I go on to do once I have completed this course?

Upon successful completion of this course, you may wish to attend one of the other many short business courses offered, including An introduction to Performance Management or An introduction to Time Management. You could choose to progress and study for a professional accredited management qualifications from the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).
