The HNC Business and Management allows students to explore key principals of marketing, organisational behaviour and business analysis. Investigating the environments in which businesses operate, the law as it applies to businesses, management reporting and the management of professional development, HNC students will learn how to effectively communicate and lead people, how to manage activities to achieve results and how to manage financial resources.

Covering a range of modules, including HRM, Business and Business Environment, Marketing Essentials, Management Accounting and Management and Operations.

Equipping students with a range of transferable skills, the HNC Business and Management provides students with a range of skills required for success in employment, including ICT, teamwork, critical thinking, reflection, problem solving and communication.

What will I study?

Students will study the following core modules:

  • Business and Business Environment
  • Marketing Essentials
  • HRM
  • Management and Operations
  • Management Accounting
  • Managing a Successful Business

Students will also study two additional modules.

How will I study?

The programme includes a range of approaches to learning and teaching including lectures, seminars, group work, directed tasks, independent research and individual, group tutorials and blended learning.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment is employed throughout the programme, where you will undertake assessment as both an individual and as a group. Assessment methods include coursework assignments and written examinations. The performance of each student will be continuously assessed as you work your way through each module via completion of a range of set assignments. There are also some modules studied that include in-class assessment methods.
