The HND in Operations Engineering is recognised by employers nationally as a qualification suitable for those working in higher technical, supervisory and management positions in Operations Engineering. You will develop analytical and evaluation skills during the course and will be well equipped to undertake more senior roles in the engineering industry, specifically in the field of Operations Engineering. Successful completion of the HND will provide the opportunity for students to progress onto university to top-up their qualification to a full honours degree.

Course in-depth

What will I study?

All students on the HND Operations Engineering will gain an insight into the understandings of management and business practices, specifically within the engineering sector. Opportunities to explore design, management and control of operations processes will be explored, as you undertake practical project based work that combines core and optional modules. Classes for this HND will take place at the newly refurbished STEM Centre, Technology Campus, which has recently received significant investment.

How will I study?

Students are required to attend over a one-year period for one extended day per week, typically 9.00am to 8.00pm.

How will I be assessed?

All units on the HND Operations Engineering are assessed by a combination of assignments including progress tests and end of session open examinations.
