Level 1 Award in Introductory Welding Skills (TIG)
This course is suitable for those who wish to gain a basic understanding of TIG welding whilst gaining a recognised qualification.
When will I start the course and how long will it take?
This course starts on Tuesday 31st January 2017. Taking 16 weeks to complete you will attend College for one evening a week.
What will I study?
Located within our purpose built STEM Centre, Technology Campus you will develop the skills and knowledge necessary in pursuing a career within this industry. The following areas will be covered:
- Health and Safety in Fabrication and Welding
- Tungsten Inert Gas Shielded Welding
How is it assessed?
You will be assessed through a range of assignments and examinations.
Do I need any previous qualifications to start this course?
No. There are no formal qualifications needed although a background in engineering would be beneficial.
What are the course fees?

What can I go on to do once I have completed this course?
Upon successful completion of this course you may wish to develop your welding skills even further by progressing onto the level 1 Award in Introductory Welding Skills (MIG).
