Level 2 Award in 2D Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Manufacturing

This course is suitable for students aged 19 and over.

This course is suitable for those who wish to further develop their abilities in the field of Computer Aided Design (CAD).

When will I start the course and how long will it take?

This course has start dates in September 2018 and January 2019. Taking 16 weeks to complete you will attend the College for one evening per week (Monday) between 6.00pm and 9.00pm.

What will I study?

You will gain basic experience in the use of Auto Cad systems for the purpose of design and draughting. Depending on your interests, the following areas can be covered:

  • 2D Computer aided design
  • 2D Computer aided part programming
  • 2D Manual part programming
  • 2D CNC machining
  • Reinstate the work area(s)
  • 2D CAD online test

How is it assessed?

You will be assessed through a combination of assignments and an externally set examination.

Do I need any previous qualifications to start this course?

No formal qualifications are necessary for this course.

What are the course fees?

The total cost of this course is £450.

If you are aged 19 or over, course fees are dependent on your personal circumstances and you may be eligible for funding to cover course fees. If you are aged 19-23 and this is your first full level 1 qualification, 100% of your course fees will be covered.

What can I go on to do once I have completed this course?

Upon successful completion of this course you may to progress onto further qualifications such as the Level 3 Award in 3D CAD.
