Level 3 Award in 2D Computer Aided Design (CAD)
This course is suitable for those who already have a background in Computing and Design and wish to further develop their abilities in the field of Computer Aided Design.
When will I start the course and how long will it take?
This course will commence in September. Taking one year to complete, you will attend the College for one day a week.
What will I study?
You will develop specialist 2D/3D design skills which will allow you to progress in your career. The following areas will be covered:
- 3D Computer aided part programming
- 3D CNC machining
- Use advanced features and parts modelling
- Use advanced presentation graphics
How is it assessed?
You will be assessed through assignments and written tests.
Do I need any previous qualifications to start this course?
No formal qualifications are required however, a level 2 CAD qualification is desirable and experience with CAD software is essential.
What are the course fees?
The total cost of this course is £450.
What can I go on to do once I have completed this course?
Upon successful completion of this course you may wish to secure employment within roles such as CAD draughtsperson, Engineering craft, CNC machinist or Engineering operative. Alternatively, you may choose to continue with your studies and progress onto Higher Education.
