Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work

This regulated Emergency First Aid at Work qualification is suitable when employers have identified a requirement for Emergency First Aiders or an Appointed Person in their First Aid Needs Assessment. It is also a popular option for anyone requiring basic first aid training outside of the workplace.

The course focuses on how to prevent emergency first aid situations from becoming worse, equipping you with the basic life saving skills needed to deal with emergencies until professional help arrives.

When will I start the course and how long will it take?

This course has flexible start dates throughout the year.

You will attend College for one day from 9.00am - 4.00pm.

If required, we are able to set discrete dates for employers upon request.

This course will be delivered at Northern Logistics Academy's dedicated training centre in St Helens (Langtree Street, St Helens WA9 1AR).

What will I study?

The content of this course provides basic lifesaving first aid and workplace health and safety regulations, covering the following:

  • Managing an unresponsive casualty
  • CPR
  • Choking
  • Shock
  • Wounds
  • Bleeding
  • Minor injuries

The course will be fun and informative and will give you the confidence and vital lifesaving skills needed to deal with the wide range of situations that could arise in the workplace.

How is it assessed?

You will complete practical and theory assessments (multiple choice question papers) and continuous formative assessment conducted throughout the course.

Do I need any previous qualifications to start this course?

There are no formal entry requirements.

What are the course fees?

The total cost of this course is £85 per person.

What can I go on to do once I have completed this course?

Upon successful completion of this course you will receive a Qualsafe qualification in Emergency First Aid at work. You could also choose to complete the level 3 First Aid at work.

This is valid for a period of 3 years and can be renewed by attending another Emergency First Aid at Work course.

If you wish to pursue a career as a Health and Safety practitioner, you could choose to progress on to our IOSH and NEBOSH courses.
