CIPD Level 5 Intermediate Certificate and Diploma in Human Resource Management

The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) is the world's largest Chartered HR and people development professional body, with over 140,000 members worldwide. The CIPD's qualifications are the recognised professional standard for HR and training specialists working across the UK's public, private and charity sectors.

When will I start the course and how long will it take?

This course will commence in February and September. Taking one year to complete you will attend college on a Thursday afternoon 1.00pm - 8.30pm.

What will I study?

Based at the Town Centre Campus you will be taught by industry professionals and you will explore the key concepts and elements of Human Resources. The following areas will be covered:

  • Developing professional practices
  • Business issues and the contexts of HR
  • Managing and coordinating the HR function
  • Using information in HR
  • Resourcing and talent planning
  • Improving organisational performance
  • Contemporary developments in employee relations
  • Contemporary developments in HR development

How is it assessed?

You will complete a number of assignments and produce a portfolio of evidence.

Do I need any previous qualifications to start this course?

You will need to show evidence of successful completion of: Certificate in Human Resource Practice / Learning and Development practice OR Continuous professional development in the workplace demonstrating competence in understanding business and external environment, managing/coordinating the HR function, contribute to organisational performance, resourcing and talent planning and current thinking in HRM/HRD.

What are the course fees?

The total cost of this course is £1,750.

If you are aged 19+ you could also choose to apply for a 19+ Advanced Learner Loan to cover your course fees enabling you to study now, pay later. Loan eligibility isn't dependent on income or employment status and there is no credit check. Loan repayments don't start until you have finished your course and earn over £21,000 per year. What can I go on to do once I have completed this course?

Upon successful completion of this course you may wish to progress onto the level 7 Advanced Certificate and Diploma in HRM.
