CIPD Level 5 Intermediate Certificate and Diploma in Human Resource Management
This course is suitable for those who are seeking a career in HR management or currently working within this field and are responsible for implementing HR policies and strategies. This course will expand on your existing skills and knowledge to further understand the role of HR within the wider organisational and environmental context.
When will I start the course and how long will it take?
This course will commence in January and September. Taking one year to complete you will attend the college for seven hours a week.
What will I study?
Based at the Town Centre Campus you will be taught by industry professionals and you will explore the key concepts and elements of Human Resources. The following areas will be covered:
- Developing professional practices
- Business issues and the contexts of HR
- Managing and coordinating the HR function
- Using information in HR
- Resourcing and talent planning
- Improving organisational performance
- Contemporary developments in employee relations
- Contemporary developments in HR development
How is it assessed?
You will complete a number of assignments and produce a portfolio of evidence.
Do I need any previous qualifications to start this course?
You will need to show evidence of successful completion of: Certificate in Human Resource Practice / Learning and Development practice OR Continuous professional development in the workplace demonstrating competence in understanding business and external environment, managing/coordinating the HR function, contribute to organisational performance, resourcing and talent planning and current thinking in HRM/HRD.

Upon successful completion of this course you may wish to progress onto the level 7 Advanced Certificate and Diploma in HRM.
