Emergency First Aid at Work Short Course
This one day course is designed for people who want to receive training in emergency first aid. It is especially suited for nominated first aiders in smaller, low risk working environments and places of work.
When will I start the course and how long will it take?
This course takes one day to complete taking place from 09.00am to 4.30pm. The course runs on various dates throughout the year. To see a full list of our upcoming dates, please visit our online store.

What will I study?
The content of this course provides basic lifesaving first aid and workplace health and safety regulations, covering the following:
- Health and safety (first aid) regulations
- Managing an incident
- The priorities of first aid
- Treatment of an unconscious casualty
- Common workplace injuries
How is the course assessed?
Following changes affecting all first aid training providers, people attending workplace first aid courses (the 3-day initial, 2-day requalification and the 1-day Emergency First Aid at work) are now both trained and assessed by one expert trainer/assessor whilst the course is progressing and not by using a separate examination at the end.
You will be assessed through observation along with some written exercises. Whilst these written elements are straightforward, candidates need a basic English level skills.
Do I need any previous qualifications or experience to start this course?
There are no formal entry requirements. All you will need is commitment and the enthusiasm
What are the course fees?
The total cost of this course is £65, the cost will include a course book.
What can I go on to do once I have finished the course?
Upon completion you may wish to go on and complete one of our IOSH or NEBOSH Health and Safety course.
