Forklift Truck Operator Conversion License Training

(Reach or Counterbalance)

If you are currently a certified fork lift truck operator and wishing to convert your fork lift truck qualification and skills to counterbalance we can provide the training to help you secure your certification.

The counterbalance Fork Lift is the most common Fork Lift in use today and is the workhorse for most material handling operations.

The Northern Logistics Academy is a logistics and transport training specialist, based in the Northwest of England, delivering sector specific training and qualifications. We are RTITB accredited for the delivery of Fork Lift Truck training.

When will I start the course and how long will it take?

This course has various delivery dates throughout the year. The course takes 2 days to complete with 7 hours of learning per day.

This course will be delivered at Northern Logistics Academy's dedicated training centre in St Helens (Langtree Street, St Helens WA9 1AR).

The course is delivered to groups depending on minimum numbers mandatory for the course. If required, we are able to set discrete dates for employers upon request.

What will I study?

This course is developed to give you a better understanding of current legislation, best practice and refreshing your skills and ability in the safe use of a counter balance fork lift truck. You will also study:

  • An Introduction into Forklift Truck Training
  • Pre-use inspection and take over maintenance
  • Controls and Instruments
  • Weight assessment
  • Starting, moving and stopping the truck
  • Handling laden and unladen pallets
  • Operation of hydraulic controls
  • Stacking/de-stacking - free standing and in racking
  • Safety code testing
  • Practical test of basic operating skills
  • Written test of operation knowledge

Identification

Evidence of existing certification must be produced before attending this course.

On the day of the course please also bring along with you one of the following:

  • A valid passport
  • Driving license

How is it assessed?

This course is both theory and practical based assessments.

What are the course fees?

The total cost of this course is £220 per person.

What can I go on to do once I have completed this course?

Upon successful completion of this course you will be awarded an RTITB experienced operator certificate of training and a RTITB ID card which recognizes your national qualification of conversion to operate a counterbalance or reach truck.
