Level 2 Diploma in Vehicle Accident Repair (Body)

With this course, you will build upon the knowledge and skills previously gained at level 1.

You will learn how to remove and refit non-permanent, fixed motor body panels and explore different welding techniques.

When will I start the course and how long will it take?

The course will start in September and will take one year to complete.

What will I study?

During this course, you will cover the following:

  • Health and safety in the automotive environment
  • Supporting job roles in the automotive environment
  • Removing and refitting of non-permanent, fixed motor body panels
  • Removing and refitting of exterior body panels
  • MIG welding
  • Spot welding
  • Knowledge of motor vehicle construction and materials
  • Mechanical Electrical Trim (MET)

We will also support you to find work experience within local automotive companies.

How is it assessed?

You'll be assessed in a motor vehicle workshop environment, completing practical and written assessments and online multiple choice tests, in addition to e-portfolio building.

Do I need any previous qualifications to start this course?

You should have GCSEs at grade C in maths and English, although we may accept grade D if you also have a grade C in IT.

English and maths forms an important part of your future, ensuring you achieve the best success in your chosen career. But don't worry, if you haven't got the desired grades, we will still have a course available for you.

What are the course fees?

If you are a school leaver, aged 16-18, (under the age of 19 on or before 31st August 2017), you do not pay tuition fees or examination and registration fees and may be eligible for additional support depending on your financial situation. For more information, please click here.

What can I go on to do once I have completed this course?

Once you have successfully completed this course, you will have the necessary skills and knowledge to begin your career within the automotive industry.

You will also have the opportunity to progress onto a level 3 course or undertake an apprenticeship.
