In an era where 66% of UK adults have immediate access to a camera* and where living life through online platforms has become routine, it is easy to believe that making a photograph is now just part of everyday life. However, understanding the workings of a camera and being able to confidently interpret images is something far more than the routine, every day.

The BA (Hons) Photography degree at University Centre St Helens will allow you to develop both the required skills and experience needed for success in a competitive industry.

Providing the expected balance of theory and practice, this degree covers a range of higher level, specialist disciplines, including the study of image making, using both analogue and digital processes, contemporary media and research methods, allowing students to develop their technical photographic knowledge and critical understanding needed to work in this professional industry.

Exhibition opportunities are prevalent on this degree, including the chance to exhibit at the highly respected end of year show. Competition opportunities, include chances to compete in the D&AD awards and the Association of Photographers (AOP) Student Awards 2019.
