In order to allow sufficient time for registration, obtaining your robe for the Ceremony, and having photographs taken, we kindly ask that you report to the Main Reception area at the Town Centre Campus (Water Street, WA10 1PP) between 8.30am and 9.00am. Please ensure you register with us so we know that you have arrived. You will only be able to collect your robes after you have registered. Free car parking is available on the College car park (subject to availability).

Please assemble in the Main Reception area at 10.00am for an official group photograph and to be lined up in advance of the procession. You and your fellow students will then process in academic robes, from University Centre St Helens through the town centre to St Helens Parish Church at 10.30am.

The ceremony will commence at 11.00am where you will be presented with your award by our Honoured Guest. Please note that the very nature of the Graduation Ceremony means that guests could be in the church for over 2 hours.

You are required to wear the correct robe for your award. University Centre St Helens uses a company called Ede & Ravenscroft for robing. It would be inappropriate to obtain your gown from any other company. Please note that if you have achieved more than one qualification, you will only have the highest one recognised at the ceremony.

Your robe will then be available for collection at our Town Centre Campus to be fitted on the morning of the Ceremony. Gowns will need to be returned once the Ceremony has finished.

Graduation Magnetars

Don’t allow your graduation robes dictate your outfit. Our branded magnetars are not only a brilliant keepsake but are also an evolutionary and unique solution to prevent your academic hood slipping.

Without these you are restricted to wearing an outfit with buttons or risk damaging your graduation outfit by using pins to hold your hood in place.

The magnetars are two pairs of strong magnets with the unique design feature of interlocking 'teeth' which holds the fabric in a vice-like grip without damaging material.

You can purchase your magnetars here, or alternatively you will be able to purchase them from us on the morning of your graduation.

Graduation 1We will only be able to confirm if you have successfully obtained additional guest tickets on Friday 6th October 2017.

It is extremely important for all guests to bring their tickets with them on the day as they will not be admitted to St Helens Parish Church without them. All guests must be seated in the church by 10.00am. Guests will not be allowed entry after the ceremony has started and ushers have been instructed not to allow guests entry without a ticket.

Due to the popularity of this year’s event and limited seating in the venue, we are only able to offer all graduands the standard four tickets.

Picture from one of our previous graduationsAfter the graduation ceremony has finished at St Helens Parish Church, we would like to invite you and your guests to join us back at University Centre St Helens for a complimentary, celebratory reception with drinks, canapés and live music. This will give you the opportunity to take photographs and to celebrate with your fellow graduates and lecturers.

The Town Centre car park normally operates a ticket fine operation system; however, this will be suspended for the day so that free parking is available for you and your guests. Please note that we cannot guarantee you a parking space. Pay and display car parks are located nearby if the college car park is full. The closest pay and display car park is North John Street. If you do use the college car park, please ensure that you only park in a designated bay and only use the disabled bays if you have a blue badge.

It would be advisable for you to have an umbrella with you in the event of inclement weather. Please note that the college cannot provide facilities for storing personal belongings, coats, bags, etc.

Please note, only students who have completed and passed their programme of study are eligible to graduate. If you are unsure, please speak to your Programme Leader. If you book tickets and robing but subsequently find that you have not passed your programme, University Centre St Helens will withdraw you from the graduation ceremony and cannot be held liable for any costs incurred.
