St Helens College is excited to unveil its new school leaver prospectus for the 2020 academic year.

The ‘Connecting Classroom to Career’ campaign promotes St Helens College’s diverse provision, facilities, experienced teaching staff and strong employer links and highlight, how combined, these key elements contribute to maximising students’ potential to enable them to achieve their career aspirations.

At the heart of the campaign, are nine successful students and alumni that through hard work and dedicated support, are on the road to, or have already achieved their ultimate career. Some have secured positions within healthcare or have progressed on to university, while others are leading the way in the growing Visitor Economy.

A Level Academy Ambassador, Elesha, who has progressed on to the University of Liverpool, has big plans for her future, saying, “Studying A level Psychology at the A Level Academy fuelled my interest in the mind and human behaviour, and has inspired me to one day become a Clinical Psychologist.”

Matthew, now Air Cabin Crew at Jet2.com, completed his Level 2 Diploma in Cabin Crew at St Helens College. He says “My tutors at St Helens College have been amazing, they equipped me with the essential skills and knowledge I need to succeed in the aviation industry! Their strong employer links created some amazing experiences, including a familiarisation flight with Jet2.com to Tenerife.”

The Connecting Classroom to Career Ambassadors are true advocates of their chosen industries, passionate about sharing their experiences with young people and are keen to demonstrate how the skills and experience they have developed within the classroom at St Helens College are connected to their chosen career.

Antony, begins his new innovative journey at the University of Chester studying Mechanical Engineering after completing his level 3 Extended Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. He says, “From a young age, I’ve always enjoyed creating my own inventions and even competed in various junior competitions. My course has helped me to turn this passion into a career, and has allowed me to continue my journey to becoming a Product Designer.”

The new school leaver prospectus is designed to inspire, excite and motivate prospective students. Containing full-time vocational courses, A levels, Apprenticeships and much more, it will be distributed to schools across the Northwest in the upcoming weeks in preparation for the next academic year.
