Tortoise Eggs PictureStaff and students in the animal management department have their hands full incubating and monitoring four, week-old red-footed tortoise eggs, a species of tortoises native to northern South America!

The extraordinary tortoises are the offspring of residents, Strawberry and Shaun, and will be incubated under consistent conditions for four months until they are ready to hatch.

Strawberry, the mother of the four eggs, was originally bred over 12 years ago by our very own Animal Management Tutor, Mike, when he used to work as a Zookeeper at Knowsley Safari Park!
