Know Your Numbers – Improving Your Budgeting

Whether you are looking to return to education, progress in your career or simply want to improve your maths knowledge for yourself, this free course will provide tailored content to boost your maths skills and embed them in everyday life.

This introductory course will help you come to terms with common subjects including understanding addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, rounding and estimation.

You will use practical examples based around topics such as day to day budgeting, healthy eating and cooking.

This course has various dates throughout the year and will take 4 weeks to complete.

The course takes place at St Helens College, Town Centre Campus, Water Street, St Helens, WA10 1PP.

You will study the following topics:

  • Number skills
  • Rounding and estimation
  • Ratio
  • Percentage and fractions for everyday use

There is no assessment.

You don’t need any formal qualifications to complete this course.

This course is free to study providing you do not hold a grade 4 or above in GCSE Maths.

After completing this course, you could progress on to GCSE or Functional Skills Maths to further develop your skills and knowledge.
