If you are looking to embark on a career as a Nail Technician, working either in a salon or nail bar, this qualification is designed to equip you with the knowledge, practical skills and industry-required qualification to be able do this with confidence.

This course will start in September and will take one year to complete. You will attend College on a Monday or Tuesday evening, from 5.30pm – 8.00pm.

This course will take place at St Helens College, Town Centre Campus, St Helens, WA10 1PP.

This course covers the following:

  • The importance of following Health and Safety practices
  • The importance of safe working practices for sanitisation/sterilisation
  • Providing effective client care and communication
  • Provide manicure treatments including luxury elements
  • Apply and maintain acrylic nail enhancements
  • Provide nail art services
  • Anatomy and Physiology in detail (including skin and nail structure)

You will study alongside like-minded people in classes delivered by friendly supportive tutors.

You will be assessed by practical observation, written assignments and complete online examinations.
You do not need any prior experience or formal qualifications to join this course, however a keen interest in to the industry is essential.
The course fee is £486. You may be eligible for funding depending on your personal circumstances and subject to a fee assessment during the enrolment process. For further details, visit our dedicated Adult Financial support page.
Upon successful completion of this course, you could have the opportunity to progress on to the level 3 Diploma in Nail Technology.
