Level 2 Electrical Installation

This course is for those who want to develop a career in domestic, commercial or industrial electrical installation.

You will learn about electrical installation technology as well as the underlying principles of electrical science, gaining skills and knowledge in specialist areas such as installing wiring systems and enclosures.

More information

The course will start in September and will take one year to complete.

This course will take place at our STEM Centre Campus, Pocket Nook Street, St Helens, WA9 1TT.

During this course, you will cover the following:

  • Electrotechnical technology
  • Principles of electrical science
  • Electrical installation technology
  • Health and safety within building services engineering

In addition to this, you will have the opportunity to gain some work experience within the construction industry.

During this course, you’ll be assessed through an end of year exam and practical synoptic exercise.

You should have three GCSEs at grade 3 or above and a level 1 Electrical Installation qualification.

If you are a school leaver, aged 16-18, (under the age of 19 on or before 31st August 2024), you do not pay tuition fees or examination and registration fees and may be eligible for additional support depending on your financial situation. Upon successful completion of this course, you could enhance your skills and knowledge by undertaking the level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma in Electrical Installation, you could also progress on to the T Level in Building Services Engineering for Construction (Electrotechnical Engineering) or the level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma in Electrical Installation.
