Level 4 AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting

This course is suitable for students aged 19 and over.

AAT is the world's leading professional membership body for accounting technicians, with over 100,000 members worldwide.

The level 4 AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting is designed for those who wish to pursue a career in accounting and are looking to expand on their existing financial and management skills.

During this qualification, you will build on your knowledge of financial statements for limited companies, complex management accounting tasks and other areas of accountancy.

When will I start the course and how long will it take?

The course will start in September and will take one year to complete.

The course takes place at St Helens College, Town Centre Campus, St Helens, WA10 1PP.

What will I study?

You will explore the following:

  • Financial statements of limited companies
  • Management accounting budgeting
  • Management accounting decision and control
  • Accounting systems and controls
  • Personal tax
  • Credit management

You will study alongside like-minded people in classes delivered by friendly, supportive tutors.

How is it assessed?

This course is assessed through a range of computer-based assessments and a synoptic test.

Do I need any previous qualifications to start this course?

You must have successfully completed the level 3 AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting.

What are the course fees?

If you are aged 19 or over, you could also choose to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to cover your course fees enabling you to study now, pay later. Loan eligibility isn't dependent on income or employment status and there is no credit check. Loan repayments don't start until you have finished your course and earn over £27,295 per year. There are a number of payment options including an interest-free payment plan with a monthly direct debit payment.

What can I go on to do once I have completed this course?

Upon successful completion of this course, you will become a qualified Accounting Technician and can go on to secure employment at managerial or supervisory level. This qualification will also lead to exemptions with ACCA and CIMA and the non-graduate route to chartered accountancy.
