Level 2 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care Services

The nine units of study will be:

  • Principles of Communication in Adult Social Care Settings;
  • Principles of Personal Development in Adult Social Care Settings:
  • Principles of Diversity, Equality and Inclusion in Adult Social Care Settings;
  • Principles of Safeguarding and Protection in Health and Social Care;
  • Introduction to Duty of Care in Health, Social Care or Children's and Young People's Settings;
  • Understanding the Role of the Social Care Worker;
  • Understanding Person-Centred Approaches in Adult Social Care Settings;
  • Understand Health and Safety in Social Care Settings;
  • Understand How to Handle Information in Social Care Settings

How is it assessed?

This is an online distance learning course which is assessed through a series of online assessments.

Full tutor support will be provided by the College throughout the course and you will be able to contact your tutor via telephone and email.

Do I need any previous qualifications to start this course?

There is no requirement for any formal qualifications or previous experience. However all candidates will be expected to demonstrate an interest in the subject and have a desire to become employed in the sector.
