Mental Health and Wellbeing


This course is suitable for students aged 19 and over.

This programme has been developed for people who need support in building their confidence, raising their self-esteem and exploring their own skills and abilities. It can also be useful for those preparing for return to employment or further study.

During this programme you will gain an understanding of Mental Health and the course will help to; raise awareness, promote a more positive approach and enable learners to challenge the negative attitudes and stereotyping towards mental health that discourages some people from seeking the help and support they need.

On completion of the course you will achieve an NCFE Entry 3 Certificate in Personal and Social Development and CACHE Level 1 Certificate in Mental Health.

This course can be delivered remotely online, in the classroom or by blended learning. Courses can also be delivered as part of packages, depending on your goals. More information can be provided on enquiry or at enrolmen

When will I start the course and how long will it take?

This course has flexible start dates throughout the year and will take approximately 72 hours to complete, over 3 weeks.

  • Setting realistic and achievable future goals
  • Better understand your personal barriers to moving on
  • Discover ways to live more positively and healthily
  • Anxiety
  • Dementia
  • Depression
  • Mental wellbeing

How is it assessed?

This course can be completed through online learning, classroom based learning, or both (blended learning). Achievement of the course is through completion of a workbook.

Full tutor support will be provided throughout the course and you will be able to contact your tutor via telephone and email.

Do I need any previous qualifications to start this course?

No previous qualifications are necessary.

What are the course fees?

Our courses are FREE of charge, if you are aged 19 or over, and are claiming a relevant means tested benefit, or are working and earning under £18,525 per year.

This course provides fantastic progression on to the distance learning Level 2 Mental Health course or various sector specific courses.
