Level 3 CIPD Foundation Certificate in People Practice


This course is suitable for students aged 19 and over.

This qualification aims to introduces the learner to a wide range of relevant knowledge and expertise in people practice. It is suited to learners who are currently employed or aspiring to build a career in people practice.

This course will provide learners with the knowledge and skills required to be a people professional and will help to build their confidence, inspiring them to undertake tactical tasks, support change and drive impact, and to create immediate value for their organisation.

The information gathered during the course will allow learners to use in their role and understand their organisation and profession more deeply. The course will also start their journey to CIPD membership and complement career and professional development.

When will I start the course and how long will it take?

This course will start in September and will take one year to complete.

You will attend college on Tuesday evening, 6.00pm - 9.00pm.

The course takes place at St Helens College, Town Centre Campus, Water Street, St Helens, WA10 1PP, however some sessions may be delivered remotely via Microsoft Teams.

What will I study?

The course covers the following units:

  • Business, culture and change in context
  • Principles of analytics
  • Core behaviours for people professionals
  • Essentials of people practice

How is it assessed?

You will complete assignments set by CIPD for all core units.

Assessment is employer-driven and aims to cover real scenarios that learners may encounter in their future career.

Do I need any previous qualifications to start this course?

There are no formal entry requirements, however students should have the appropriate levels of literacy and numeracy are expected to be working in an organisation or have access to an organisation where they can carry out the programme requirements.

What are the course fees?

The total cost of this course is £1,265.

There are a number of payment options including an interest-free payment plan with a monthly direct debit payment.

What can I go on to do once I have completed this course?

Upon successful completion of this course, you may choose to progress on to the Level 5 CIPD Associate Diploma in People Management.
