Level 2 Award in Electric Vehicle Routine Maintenance (Adult Course)

This course is suitable for students aged 19 and over.

This qualification has been designed to give learners the knowledge and skills required to work safely on Electric/Hybrid vehicles whilst carrying out routine maintenance and repair activities (not voltage components or systems). This may include vehicles that may have or had damage to their high energy/electrical system./p>

When will I start the course and how long will it take?

The course starts in September and will take 7 weeks to complete.

The course takes place at St Helens College, STEM Centre Campus, St Helens, WA9 1TT.

What will I study?

Topics covered include:

  • Electric/hybrid vehicle system components and operation
  • Hazards surrounding electric/hybrid vehicles
  • How to reduce the risks to yourself and others when working on electric/hybrid vehicles
  • Safely preparing the vehicle when carrying routine maintenance (NOT high voltage components or systems)

How is it assessed?

The course is assessed through completion of a portfolio and observation.

Do I need any previous qualifications to start this course?

You should have completed the Level 1 Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Awareness or have relevant industry experience.

What are the course fees?

The total cost of this course is £320.

What can I go on to do once I have completed this course?

Upon successful completion of this course, you may wish to progress on to the Level 3 Award in Electric and Hybrid Vehicle Maintenance.
