Level 2 Engineering Operations Traineeship

This Traineeship programme will provide you with the opportunity to attend college, to develop your engineering knowledge, employability skills and complete English and/or maths (if applicable) whilst completing work experience within an engineering environment.

This course aims to help prepare you to progress onto either a full-time study programme or an apprenticeship.

When will I start the course and how long will it take?

This course will start in January 2021 and will last between 6-12 months, depending on the individual.

This course will require you to attend college for 2 days per week and complete a work placement of at least 70 hours, which the College will arrange.

What will I study?

During this course, you will cover the following:

  • Level 2 Certificate in Engineering Operations
  • Employer rights and responsibilities, CV writing and interview techniques
  • English and/or maths, if applicable
  • Substantial work placement

How is it assessed?

During your course, you will be assessed through a combination of exams, a work-based log and portfolio of evidence.

Do I need any previous qualifications to start this course?

You should have achieved at least 4 GCSEs (with one being English) at grade 3/D or above, or have relevant work experience.

What are the course fees?

This programme is free for those aged 16-24.

What can I go on to do once I have completed this course?

Once you've completed this course, you may choose to apply for an apprenticeship, enter full-time work or join a College course.
