Health and Wellbeing

This course is suitable for students aged 19 and over.

This course has been developed for people who need support in building their confidence, raising their self-esteem, and exploring their own skills and abilities.

The course can be tailored to suit individual requirements and themed around different areas to help improve your own health and wellbeing, including mental health awareness, basic first aid, makeup masterclass, creative crafting and gardening skills.

You will be fully supported and guided by friendly, helpful tutors.

When will I start the course and how long will it take?

This course has flexible start dates throughout the year and will take up to 9 hours to complete, over two half days, in the classroom. However, flexible learning can be offered and more information can be provided on enquiry or at enrolment.

The course takes place at St Helens College, Town Centre Campus, St Helens, WA10 1PP. The course can also be delivered at a variety of our other campus locations.

  • Healthy living
  • Dealing with problems in daily life
  • Financial Awareness

How is it assessed?

Achievement of the course is through completion of a workbook.

Do I need any previous qualifications to start this course?

No previous qualifications are necessary. This course is suitable for anyone that is looking to develop their skills or progress on to an accredited course.

What are the course fees?

You may be eligible for Community Learning funding if you have not completed a government-funded accredited course since 1st August 2022.

There are a number of fee options for this course including:

  • If you are unemployed - FREE
  • If you are employed - £30

What can I go on to do once I have completed this course?

This course provides fantastic progression on to the Entry Level 3 Building Your Confidence or another accredited course, depending on your goals. Your tutor will discuss this with you at the end of your course.
