GAME EXPERTS BLOWN AWAY BY SPACESHIP DESIGNS Games, Animation and VFX students took part in NextGen Skills Academy's Industry Challenge, which involved responding to a brief based on climate change, and either saving or leaving the planet. Choosing to save the planet and working alongside industry professionals fromgame studios, Ripstone and Radical Forge, the students designed an impressive digital fleet of spaceships, before presenting their work to a panel of experts fromCreative Assembly and Framestore! Second-year Level 3 Games, Animation and VFX students took a trip to London for the NextGen Skills Academy Graduate Showcase, hosted by Framestore! They had the chance to present their game concepts to top industry professionals and receive advice and feedback on their projects. One of our student teams, Manic Games, also received the 'Students Choice Award' for their game Fowl Play, receiving a £50 voucher of their choice. GRADUATE SHOWCASE IN LONDON INSPIRATIONAL STUDENT CELEBRATES AWARD SUCCESS Music Production student, Dylan, won Student of the Year at St Helens Chamber's annual Business Awards! Dylan was nominated by his tutor, Ant, for his commitment to his studies and utilising the drums in his personal projects. Ant said: “It was an honour to be there to see Dylan receiving an award such as this. I can think of no one who deserves it more. During his time with us, he has taught me a thing or two about determination. He is a true inspiration!” 9 10
