MAIZIE LEADS THE WAY FOR WOMEN IN CONSTRUCTION 18-year-old, Plumbing and Domestic Heating Apprentice, Maizie, is leading the way for women in construction, and recently competed in the brand-newHIP Female Skills competition. Currently in the first year of her Level 3 apprenticeship with national employer, PH Jones, Maizie conducted a live practical installation, competing against 9 other female apprentices fromacross the Northwest at York College. AlthoughMaizie didn't place this time, the College is incredibly proud of her! 10 SCAN ME! Read Maizie's story here! “Taking part in the competition was such an amazing experience. I was able to meet other female apprentices and learn from industry professionals. Although I didn’t make it through to the next round, I am very grateful for the opportunity. It has really helped build my confidence, especially as I was so nervous leading up to it but now I've realised what I am capable of.
