Discover Vocational Youwill have probably heard theword 'vocational', 'technical', or 'BTECs' thrown around a lot, and are wonderingwhat it all means. Well, vocational, technical or BTEC, refers to one or two-year courses that allow you to choose one subject, to study full-time. The best part about these courses is that they are very practical, hands-on and enable you to spend lots of time learning the skills needed to be successful in your chosen career. They are also entirelymisunderstood! Many assume that vocational courses are not as valuable as A levels but this is completely untrue. They can still give you the opportunity to go to university, complete an apprenticeship or secure employment. Some provide the same amount of UCAS Tariff Points as A levels, with Russell Group universities accepting BTECs as entry qualifications.
