University Centre St Helens has proudly launched a brand new degree course for September 2018 entry, a BA (Hons) Early Years Practice (Top-up). Working in partnership with University of Chester, this one-year programme complements the Early Years Practice Foundation degree, which has been successfully offered for a number of years at University Centre St Helens.
Designed for those already working in the Early Years sector, studied on a part-time basis, over two evenings per week, the BA (Hons) Early Years takes one year to complete and is the perfect stepping stone up, for those looking to progress into leadership and management roles within the sector.
Cath Barker, Programme Leader said:
“The introduction of this degree provides a platform for local students to achieve a full BA (Hons) degree right here in St Helens, offering natural progression from the FdA Early Years Practice. Both programmes are perfect for those already working in the sector, providing the theory and knowledge needed for successful progression into senior management and leadership roles.”
Continuing, Cath added:
“We have listened to our current students and continue to provide flexible, evening study, allowing students to achieve a full degree, whilst also working in a relevant role on a full-time basis. Students on this degree will be surrounded by other experienced practitioners, allowing best practice to be shared and in-context discussion to flow.”
Whilst the BA (Hons) Early Years Practice (Top-up) provides natural progression from the FdA Early Years Practice offered in St Helens, applications are welcome from students who have studied relevant Foundation degrees elsewhere.
