Graphic Design Live Brief - Image 1Second-year undergraduate students on the BA (Hons) Graphic Design degree at University Centre St Helens are working on a unique live brief with Manchester specialists, Shoppertainment Management to generate pieces of impact, in celebration of the 150th anniversary of the formation of the borough of St Helens.

As part of the project to celebrate the 150th anniversary, St Helens Church Square Shopping Centre have asked the budding designers to create artwork based on the theme of St Helens Past and Present, with final pieces being installed as window vinyls across a range of shop units within Church Square Shopping Centre.
Aiming to celebrate the cultural heritage of the Borough, students have been asked to bring their creativity, incorporating individual elements of what they believe makes St Helens a borough that deserves to be celebrated.
The live brief students from client, Shoppertainment Management asked that the students create something eye catching, contextual and above all, a real celebration of the Borough of St Helens!

The brief provided an exciting opportunity for students to develop some large scale artwork and experience what life in industry is like, as they received the initial live brief from the client before going away to work on initial concepts and designs.

The initial brief outlined that there would be one winner, who’s artwork would feature on the allocated window vinyls, however, on return to University Centre St Helens, client, Shoppertainment Management, were so impressed with the initial concepts and quality of work, they have decided to display them all!

Currently taking the clients comments on board, to develop and finalise work, students will have artwork ready for the handover at 4pm on Wednesday 28th November, with artwork remaining in a prominent place in the Town Centre for at least six months.
