Emily WrightSt Helens College Science student, Emily Wright, has successfully achieved top marks of triple Distinction* upon completion of her course and secured a place at the University of Salford helping her to work towards her dream career in midwifery.

After leaving Shevington High School, Emily began studying for her A levels before realising it wasn’t the right route for her so aspiring midwife Emily, enrolled onto the two year course, following in the footsteps of her mum who also studied at St Helens College.

She said, “I loved St Helens College because it has good science facilities, laboratories and equipment and it offered the course I wanted to do. The staff were really friendly and supportive, so I found them very approachable whenever I needed any help. I also found the course at the College suited me as it was coursework based. With so many different modules the lesson topics changed all the time which made it interesting.”

Science tutor, Linda Waddecar, said “Emily worked extremely hard and is a very conscientious student. Her hard work and determination has shone through in her results which are equivalent to A* at A level and has allowed her to secure a place at the university of her dreams. We are very proud and are sure that she will go on to great things”.
