Career: 3D Games Artist - Atomicom

Ryan graduated from the BA (Hons) Game Art degree at University Centre St Helens and has since secured an impressive position as a 3D Games Designer with a creative studio based in Liverpool.

Ryan made University Centre St Helens his institution of choice, adding, "The local nature of the degree was a great appeal as I was looking to live at home and study. It was great to have a game art degree on my doorstep."

The BA (Hons) Game Art degree, designed by game art experts, provides students with specialist training to become a professional games artist in the industry.

This distinctive degree offers an opportunity to complete an internship with innovative games developer, Atomicom, situated within the Northwest’s creative hub, Liverpool.

Ryan states, "In my third year, I managed to secure the internship, giving me the opportunity to work alongside gaming professionals on live briefs for clients. I completed my dissertation alongside my time at Atomicom, giving me the knowledge and experience to develop my final piece."

University Centre St Helens prides itself on a small, but supportive environment for students to excel. Ryan agrees, adding, "The course has professional, helpful tutors that have pushed me to achieve my best".

Upon graduating this year, Ryan secured his position as a 3D Games Designer with Atomicom, allowing Ryan to "turn a life-long dream and biggest hobby into a career."

Ryan hopes to progress further in the industry with ambitions of working for the multinational AAA gaming company, CDProjekt Red.

Ryan adds, "BA (Hons) Game Art has enabled me to take my first big career step in the industry, making a career out of something that I love!"
