We are incredibly proud of our students who were recognised for their fantastic achievements at the annual St Helens Chamber Business Awards, winning the renowned “Student of the Year” award, and “Apprentice of the Year.”

The black-tie event, held at Totally Wicked Stadium, celebrates the achievements of local businesses, entrepreneurs, apprentices and students, where our

Level 3 BTEC National Extended Diploma in Music Production student, Dylan, BA (Hons) Graphic Design degree student, Daniel, and Electrotechnical Apprentice with E-Verve Energy, Thomas, were all shortlisted for an award.

After enjoying a great evening, we were so pleased to see student Dylan achieve the “Student of the Year” award, after being nominated by his tutor, Ant, for his commitment to his studies and utilising the drums in his personal projects, despite having limited use of his legs.

Dylan’s tutor, Ant, was beaming with pride, telling us: “It was an honour to be there to see Dylan receiving an award such as this. I can think of no one who deserves it more. During his time with us he has taught me a thing or two about determination, perseverance, grit and most importantly he has taught me a million things I never knew about Elvis Presley as Dylan is The King's biggest fan... ever! I'm now encouraging him to keep in touch with St Helens Chamber in order to set up his own drum workshops for other people with mobility issues. He is a true inspiration!”

Electrotechnical Apprentice, Thomas, also came away with “Apprentice of the Year” after being nominated by his proud employer, E-Verve Energy. Thomas has worked with E-Verve Energy for several years and has since been involved with the company’s charity work with local primary schools in addition to his studies.

E-Verve Energy co-founder, Jennifer, told us: "Thomas is extremely diligent in his work and studies and is a dedicated advocate of our company, his profession and the green sector. Thomas shows unwavering commitment and enthusiasm as well as giving back to the local community via his work with our Charity, Electric Futures. We see a great long term future with team E-Verve for Thomas!"

Congratulations to Dylan and Thomas on your well-earned awards!
