Before half term, we welcomed local comedian, TikTok star and author Lewis Hancox, to talk about his latest book ‘Welcome to St Hell’ and share his personal experiences of growing up as a trans teenager in St Helens.

Lewis, who has a love for the town, wanted to return to where it all began to share his story with our students, to help raise awareness, promote acceptance, and help anyone going through a similar situation.

Lewis also spoke about his dreams of becoming an entertainer and artist, and how he used his struggles as an inspiration for his work and has driven his success in the entertainment industry.

Lewis has always had a passion for entertaining and decided to start creating his own comedy sketches, where he portray various characters, including his popular “Stereotypical British mum”. To Lewis’ surprise, his video’s went viral, attracting thousands of views, and has seen him build a sensational online fanbase of more than 550 thousand followers!

It was great to see a few fans of Lewis' in the audience, who were eager to grab a selfie with the star, having been fans of his viral TikTok videos, and brought their own copies of his book for signing!

A huge thank you to Lewis for visiting and sharing his story with us.
